Alex, long time no hear! I tried to patch up some boots like that once before a ride, it didn't even last for that ride. You can try it for yourself, but the time is better spent just thinking about the good rides you had with those boots and finding another pair. There are always great deals on lightly used sets, I don't think I have ever bought a brand new pair of boots.
