georgewa 0 Posted September 2, 2008 Hello all, I am new to the site. Recently picked up a plated xr400 and want to get out and rip it up. I learned how to ride years back on 250 2-strokes and in the desert and such. Started riding sportbikes exclusively for the last 8 yrs or so, now it time to get back in some dirt. I commute daily, love riding all the time. I kinda regret picking up the xr as i was looking at ktm's and drz's, but for the price i could pass it up and it should do the job for now. Also have a little dr200 for putting around on. Have enough bikes; gsxr1000, tl1000r, fzr600, and the xr400 and dr200. And still want to pick up a cr250 for the desert... I live near downtown SD, and would love to go check out some of the local trials like Corral and Lark, and learn about some, if possible closer areas. Maybe down by the border and such. Looking forward to getting out there and meeting you all... Thanks, George
dirt dame 662 Posted September 2, 2008 Welcome to the club. We will be having plenty of trail rides coming up, especially as the weather starts to cool down somewhat. See you out on a ride some time soon.
Joliet 0 Posted September 2, 2008 George, welcome. The xr is a great bullit proof bike that will go anywhere we ride. Other than the lack of an electric starter, it is awsome. Look forward to riding with you soon. Ken
tntmo 1022 Posted September 2, 2008 Welcome, that XR400 you have is a great all purpose off-road machine. Ride the wheels off it, see you on the trail.
RogerTOWM 0 Posted September 2, 2008 Welcome and that XR is a great bike! See you on the trail soon. Oh by the way Ken says you forgot Husqvarna in your line up.
mctrails 50 Posted September 3, 2008 Welcome George! I rode an XR400 for a few years before getting into KTMs. Its a great bike. It was a smooth transition for me as I felt the Honda has similar handling characteristics to the KTMs.

georgewa 0 Posted September 12, 2008 Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Nice to see I have a nearby rider in the area, Blind. I'm ready to hit some dirt asap, been doing more to the bike, putting on a WB e2 on the bike this weekend, the old wb e-series is beat with a hole in the side. Trying to get everything in order, already dumped close to 1k in the bike since the purchase...
