James Bond Adventure

Recommended Posts

Guys I tell ya they just keep getting better.

We met up at the entrance to Bear Valley for a short ride in the Laguna's. It was me, Wow ee, Ride orange & friend Jeff. We topped off with fuel and headed up Pine Creek towards Mount Laguna. Good mountain riding nice and cool. We took some trails I knew and ended up on Sunrise Hwy by Pioneer Mail camp ground.

From there we went up to Kwaamyii Pt. to see the desert view. When looking down to the 6000' drop to the desert floor, two cars pull up. Maybe rob can post before pics. We were riding, I did not pay much attention to the cars. We all left down Sunrise about the same time going North. I was behind the Ferrari. The cars took off pretty fast. I was doing 55 and they were pulling away like I was parked.

Anyway we get to the first corner less than a mile down the road and:

Jeff filled me in on the car. It was a James Bond type car, Astin Martin DB9, only a quarter million dollar car, on its roof.

I don't think Jeff believed it happened.

The other car was a Ferrari F430. The one Ferrari was so proud of they put glass over the engine for the whole world to see the 490HP engine.

SInce we were the first on scene we helped remove the two occupants and directed traffic until the Vol Fire Dept showed. It is amazing how fast 250K is gone.

Oh Yah, we were riding. From the wrecks we went back towards Thing road down to La Posta trk trl.

Dennis comming off the Mountain.

Jeff and Rob close behind.

From there we took some single tracks and ended up at my place for some cold ones. Home from there.

Every ride is an Adventure!!

You can't make this stuff up! Join us.

Both guys in the car only had minor cuts, some from the help out of the car, they will be OK. The car KIA! The DAD and owner of the two cars looked very familiar??

BTW, I coined an acronym a while back for drivers (and riders) with expensive powerful machines they can't handle:

WET (Wallet, Ego, Throttle)

What a great ride! It got a little toasty on the way to carguy's, but he had the cold ones waiting for us.

But let me back-up a bit...

Here's the shot of Jeff at the look-out point with the Aston Martin DB9 (Jeff's dream car) in the background

Posted Image

My shot shows only the back with some WET folks walking around pointing at the tires and such.

Here's a real "before" shot for those who are not familiar with the VIQ (vehicle in question).

Posted Image

...and another version of the previously posted "After" shot

Posted Image

This is what happens when you reach the end of the runway after forgetting to bolt the WINGS onto your little aeroplane. Oh, and here's a shot of the end of same said runway.

Posted Image

Here's what the inside of a DB9 is supposed to look like.

Posted Image

..and this is what it looks like after a "Wheels-Up" landing

Posted Image

I was amazed to find that neither the driver nor passenger emerged from this with little more that a few cuts. I told the Kid he should head directly to Vegas or the nearest Indian Casino. This was truly his lucky day!

After the mayhem was being controlled by the local Fire Rescue team, it was no fun anymore so we headed out for more adventuring.

Here's a pic of Jeff bringing up the sweeper spot.

With carguy and Kaw'ee leading the charge

All this at 60 mph through the cool Lagunas. It sure was a blast, hope we find some less stressful adventuring next time!

..........Sorry, but i've been really busy..............

With all the current pic's and write ups, I figured there was plenty for just a four hour ride.!!!

But since you asked for it...heres you proving, some kids never grow up...

Posted Image

But if i may be serious for just this once..

ride-orange's son is a emt or medic of some sort, and rob has some trainning if the need arise's , he instantly responded to the guys in the crash, and was actually testing the kid for shock in my picture...and of course he stayed with them the whole time untill the emergency crews showed up...which makes him my new hero..!!! Rob a great guy to have along on a ride , as a friend or as someone that can help if the need arise's...

P.S. I sure hope I drown at his BBQ, I just know he'll be there for me with the proper life saving proceduere, ( I'm hoping you have party mints on hand )
