Georgetown trails

Recommended Posts

I did a bunch of riding out in the Sacramento area last week. Here are some shots from Friday, 10/3. I rode Georgetown, It's a huge OHV park about an hour east of Sacramento.

We staged at Mace Mill

right out of the gate you're on tree lined single track.

Here's the first stop. We decided where we wanted to go.

One thing to know about Georgetown. It's not the easiest place to navigate.

The maps don't "exactly", or sometimes even come close to representing what you're seeing on the ground. Trails are marked with numbers and arrows. There are multiple numbered loops intersecting. It gets real confusing.

The next photo opportunity was in a beautiful fern lined canyon where we did a water crossing and started back up the other side of the canyon.

Once we were out of the canyon, the climb to the top of bald mountain began. Lots of loose rocky trails

I killed the bike on this switch back turn, here's Unlce Mike telling me to keep on the gas.

Here's my 2nd stall. That's Uncle Mike again coming down to see what's going on.

Here's me at the top, unbelieveable views. It's beautiful country out there

More single track on the way down

Thanks for the report/pics......that's pretty close to my parent's house in Placerville......unfortunately, I've never ridden my dirt bikes in that area because I usually show up to the folks place on my Superhawk.....hmmmmmm, may have to "Pyro" my way up there on the Adventure sometime

Thanks for the RR. Looks like you had a great ride.

I think my next trip might be to the Sacramento area. Is the elevation there high enough to get snow in the winter?

From what I hear, it snows out there. I think the elevation is in the 3500 ft range.
